Douglas Benton
Senior Municipal Credit Manager
Douglas Benton joined Cavanal Hill in 2010 as the Senior Municipal Credit Manager and a member of the Fixed Income Management team. Mr. Benton is responsible for the company’s tax-exempt credit research function and supports the tax exempt fixed income and cash management strategies. Prior to Cavanal Hill, Mr. Benton served as the leader of Moody’s Investors Service’s southwest regional municipal bond ratings team in which he headed an analytical team of municipal bond analyst based in the southwest that are responsible for rating the revenue and tax-supported debt of Moody’s-rated local governments in the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Mr. Benton also served as a lead or back-up analyst on Moody’s coverage of several of the region’s major municipalities. Mr. Benton began his career in commercial banking and has served as a bankruptcy and litigation consultant for a Big Four accounting firm. He holds a M.B.A. in Accounting from Rice University, as well as a B.B.A. in Finance from Baylor University.
